Day Trip from Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah
Your full-day tour begins at 8:00 AM from Marrakech, heading towards Ouarzazate. Along the way, enjoy spectacular valley views and visit Berber villages where semi-precious stones are sold. As you travel south, the mountainous landscape gradually transforms into a semi-desert environment.
In this region, you will see famous kasbahs and discover traditional small houses constructed from mud and straw.
Upon arriving in Ouarzazate, you will visit the Taourirt Kasbah, the former residence of Pacha El Glaoui. You then continue to the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s best-preserved fortified cities. Its unique architecture and dramatic setting have made it a popular filming location for many movies and television series. Films shot here include Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Babel, Prince of Persia, The Mummy, and Game of Thrones, where it appeared as a city in season three.
To complement your visit, you will also stop at the Atlas Film Studios, where many scenes from these productions were recorded. This offers a chance to discover the cinematic importance of this region.
