    Itinerary
4 Day Desert Tour from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – Dades Valley

Your desert adventure commences at 8:00 AM with a pick-up from your Marrakech accommodation. We set off on the iconic road over the High Atlas, conquering the Tizi n’Tichka pass. We’ll make frequent stops at panoramic viewpoints, allowing you to capture the staggering scale of the mountain landscape. Our first major exploration is the magnificent Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a masterpiece of Berber architecture. As we continue, we’ll pass through Ouarzazate, with an optional visit to the famous Atlas Film Studios to see where Hollywood blockbusters were born. The journey then takes us through charming Berber villages towards the Dades Valley. If traveling in spring, we’ll pause at a local rose cooperative to learn about the prized Damascus roses. The day concludes with a warm welcome and overnight stay in the Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Sahara Desert

After breakfast, we continue our journey east to the dramatic Todra Gorges. Here, we’ll take a refreshing 15-minute walk between the soaring 300-meter cliff faces, a truly awe-inspiring experience. Leaving the gorges behind, we push south towards the Sahara, arriving in the village of Merzouga on the edge of the vast Erg Chebbi dunes. As the afternoon cools, you’ll begin the quintessential desert experience: a camel trek into the sea of golden sand. Your caravan will pause on a high dune to witness a breathtaking sunset before arriving at your traditional desert camp. As night falls, enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars, gather around a crackling bonfire, and be captivated by the rhythmic beats of Berber drums. You’ll spend a magical night in a private tent.

Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

Wake early to witness the sunrise cast a soft glow over the desert landscape. After the trek back to the village by camel or 4×4, you can enjoy a refreshing shower and breakfast at the hotel. Today’s route takes us on a different path back towards Ouarzazate. We’ll stop at the bustling traditional market in Rissani, a true taste of local life. Our journey then winds through the stunning Draa Valley, home to one of Morocco’s longest and most lush palm groves. We’ll make several scenic stops, allowing you to absorb the beauty and capture the perfect photograph. We arrive in Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” in the evening, where you’ll settle into a beautiful Riad or hotel for the night.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

On our final day, we take the opportunity to revisit the famous Ait Ben Haddou. Seeing the Kasbah bathed in the soft morning light offers a new perspective on its beauty. After exploring at a leisurely pace, we begin the drive back to Marrakech, winding once more through the picturesque High Atlas Mountains. We’ll make scenic stops along the way, giving you a last chance to breathe in the fresh mountain air and admire the sweeping views. We arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, with a drop-off at your accommodation, marking the end of your four-day desert adventure.
